Apple suggested Canadians should lineup for the iPhone X if they wanted one, noting in a statement earlier this week “to arrive early.”
Well, this is exactly what is happening across Canada tonight.
It seems to be a throwback to the iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 days when eager and loyal iPhone users camped out for days. Apple started to direct people away from this strategy when the iPhone 7 launched as it ramped up its online reservation and ordering capabilities.
Alas, with the iPhone X and possibly its global shortage, people are back in action. Below is a video from the Toronto flagship store at the Eaton Centre. At the time of writing, there are about 200 people lining up, with the first person claiming his position at 4:00am.
The iPhone X officially goes on sale in Canada on November 3rd and pricing starts at $1,319 CAD for the 64GB model.
